Fire At The Entrance Way
When night falls, there is nothing more beautiful than having a lit fire lighting the way to your front door. It’s perfect for when you are having parties and people need to see their way up the front walkway. But, a lighted entrance is great any time the sun goes down...
...Gel fuel provides a great way to make interesting lighting solutions for your walkway. You can have your own tiki torches that light either side of the walkway. But, you can also add a different kind of personal touch to each side of the walkway and each side of the door.
Tiki Torch
Since gel fuel is eco-friendly in every way, you might want to think about building your own tiki stands and using gel fuel as the torch. It’s easy to do when you have the right material. Bamboo poles, round reed, rawhide strips, a knife and a saw are all you need other than your gel fuel.
At the length you want, cut your bamboo poles. Make six one foot cuts at the top of each. At this point, the design is up to you. But, use the round reed and the rawhide strips to create your tiki design. Set the gel fuel inside, light and you have a tiki torch.
The Personal Touch
A simple way to add a personal touch along either side of your walkway is by using stones. Decide on a good length to separate each lighting fixture. Every two to three feet is just about right.
Now you know how many fixtures you’ll need to make. I’ve seen the stone simply stacked around a can of gel fuel. I’ve also seen a more permanent fixture created where the stone was cemented together in a circular pattern so that the gel fuel cans could be easily removed and replaced.
Either way, place each fixture along your walkway at two to three feet on each side. When your company comes, they will thoroughly enjoy your walkway. That’s an easy personal touch that doesn’t take much time at all to create.
At The Door
You can also have a personal touch at the door. This might take some construction expertise if you need it. But, you may not need construction expertise if you just simply want to add another personal touch fixture on either side of the door using stones as discussed earlier.
However, there is a far more engaging project you can try. Build shelves on each side of the door. They can be level of staggered. Have fun with it! Let it fit your style.
You can either use a personal ventless fireplace already designed or create one of your own imagination. Place a fireplace on each shelf and let your neighbors enjoy.
It’s fun to be unique and have something interesting everyone wants. Fire at the entranceway is certainly something that will catch everyone’s attention. The fact that it’s gel fuel makes it safe for your home and the environment.
